How Website and Project Information Is Handled

1. Website Forms and Delivery

The Contact and Request a Site Evaluation forms transmit submitted fields to KPCB by email. The site uses Resend to send those messages to a Gmail inbox controlled by KPCB. The website does not write form entries or attachments to its own database or file-storage service.

Resend and Gmail process and retain received messages and attachments under their services and account settings. Submissions are therefore not “never stored”; they exist in the email systems used to deliver and receive the inquiry.

Cloudflare Turnstile processes limited technical information to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated abuse. A submission is sent only after server-side validation and a successful Turnstile check.

2. Information You May Provide Directly

If you use a form or contact KPCB by telephone or email, you may choose to provide information such as your name, contact details, organization, property location, project type, intended use, site conditions, dimensions, timeline, photographs, plans, or message.

Please do not provide Social Security numbers, financial-account information, identification documents, medical information, or unrelated confidential records.

Limited technical information

Vercel and Cloudflare Turnstile may process limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, such as an IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, access time, and security signals. This site does not currently configure advertising pixels or a dedicated analytics product.

3. How Communications May Be Used

Information received through a form, telephone, or email may be used to respond to questions, evaluate a proposed property or existing court, clarify project details, schedule conversations or visits, prepare recommendations or proposals, communicate about active work, maintain necessary business records, protect website and business security, and comply with legal or contractual obligations.

Sharing and service providers

Resend, Gmail, Cloudflare, and Vercel process limited information as providers supporting email delivery, inbox receipt, spam prevention, and website hosting. When reasonably necessary for a requested project, limited information may also be shared with relevant professionals such as electricians, fencing contractors, engineers, surveyors, suppliers, insurers, or professional advisers.

Information may be disclosed where reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect KPCB or others, investigate abuse or security incidents, enforce agreements, or establish or defend legal claims.

Sale and targeted advertising

KPCB does not sell project information received through direct communications and does not use it for targeted advertising.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The current site does not intentionally set nonessential advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Vercel and Cloudflare Turnstile may use essential hosting or security technology where necessary to serve and protect the site and forms.

A consent tool and updated disclosures should be added before nonessential advertising, behavioral analytics, or cross-site tracking is introduced.

5. Photographs and Project Files

The site-evaluation form accepts up to three JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, or PDF files totaling no more than 3 MB. Submitted files are attached to an email processed by Resend and received in Gmail. They are not copied to a KPCB website database or file-storage service.

Photographs, surveys, drawings, and plans may be used to review slope, access, drainage, pavement, surroundings, and other project conditions. Providing project files does not grant permission to publish them in a portfolio, advertising, or social media; public use requires separate permission.

6. Retention and Security

Resend may retain delivery records and message content according to its service practices, and Gmail retains received email and attachments until removed under KPCB’s account practices or required business-record needs. KPCB may retain an inquiry as long as reasonably necessary to respond, evaluate or perform the requested project, maintain required records, resolve disputes, comply with obligations, and protect against fraud or security incidents.

You may ask KPCB to delete an inquiry, subject to legal, contractual, security, and recordkeeping needs. Safeguards include HTTPS, server-side validation, attachment allowlists and size limits, Turnstile abuse prevention, restricted account access, protected credentials, and secure authentication practices. No website, email system, or file-transfer method can be guaranteed completely secure.

7. Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on applicable law, a person may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or information about processing. A request may require reasonable identity verification before records are disclosed or changed.

Consent and communications

Submitting a form authorizes KPCB to respond about that inquiry and acknowledges the email and security processing described here. Form submission does not enroll a visitor in SMS or promotional email programs.

8. Children’s Privacy

This website is intended for property owners, organizations, contractors, and adults planning construction projects. It is not directed to children under 13, and KPCB does not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13.

9. Third-Party Websites

The website may link to manufacturers, industry organizations, mapping tools, or other third-party websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and KPCB is not responsible for those practices.

10. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated as the website, forms, technology providers, legal requirements, or business practices change. An updated version will be posted here with a revised effective date.
